I think the venue sounds great, Kathy. Didn't attend the last conference and hope to this year.

Dear MHCA Board Members,

After exploring multiple properties in the Twin Cities metro area, we have identified a potential meeting site for the 2017 Future of Home Care Conference. We are proposing the conference be held on Thursday, January 12th at the Minneapolis Airport Marriott<http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mspmn-minneapolis-airport-marriott/>.

The Minneapolis Airport Marriott is located across the street from the Mall of America on American Blvd. The hotel has complimentary shuttle service to the MOA/Airport and complimentary parking. Their $6000 food & beverage minimum and $650 rental fee is in line with our established event budget, assuming we get similar or better attendance as in 2016. In 2016, the conference drew total attendance of 67 (+12 exhibitors).

Allison also reviewed proposals from the Earle Brown (Brooklyn Park), Doubletree Minneapolis South, Renaissance Depot, Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown, Marriott Minneapolis West, Radisson Blu, and JW Marriott. Among these hotels, this property has the best price point combined with exceptional customer service.

As in 2016, our intended focus for this conference is addressing the topics of Workforce, Payment Reform, and Technology. In 2017, this conference would include both a general session covering Workforce & Payment topics and a technology expo with vendor demonstrations.

As I recall, the Board of Directors would like to provide input on conference locations. Please let me know your thoughts by Friday, June 17, if we have your approval to proceed with a contract for 2017 and also if this focus is still pertinent to your individual agency needs. We will need your support of MHCA education and events in the year ahead. Should this be a conference that you and your staff do not plan to attend, please be sure to let us know.
