Vice President JD Vance announced today that the Trump administration would "temporarily halt" some Medicaid funding to the state of Minnesota over fraud concerns, as part of what he described as an aggressive crackdown on misuse of public funds. According to the news reports, there will be a pause of $259 million in Medicaid funds to Minnesota. The announcement also came hours after Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison introduced a bill that would add resources to fighting Medicaid fraud<https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/minnesota-ag-keith-ellison-introduces-bill-to-add-resources-to-fighting-medicaid-fraud/89-8ed0c7bb-db2d-43ae-b64f-22efb023262b>.
We do not know what, if any, immediate impact this will have on services and funding.
I was contacted by the media but opted not to go on the news. I will share more when we have additional information.
