Greetings on this final day of 2025. We are sure ending the year with anxiety producing sparks vs sparklers. The need for advocacy was high this week!!

Advocacy
Providers are receiving notice of significant delays that are occurring through the Prepayment Review Program that started this week. MHCA sent an email to all members around noon, asking them to assist in elevating our advocacy voices. Please reference that for the details, as well as information regarding the UCare transition, the other hot topic we are hearing about.

Member Benefits
We are launching two new member programs in January! An announcement regarding the MHCF scholarship program will be sent Friday, with the first round of scholarships being rewarded in March.

The Pilot Consulting Program announcement will be sent on Monday, announcing the two audits and mock survey options. I will keep you posted on the activity for both.

Operations/Administration
We received disappointing news last week from Jessica Kirchoff. She accepted a position in the primary care division of Allina and will no longer be an MHCA member. She hadn't thought about this impact when she applied for that job and shared that she will miss being a part of the association. That said, the Leadership Development Committee will also be sending a notice that applications will be accepted for that board position. Do you have a good candidate in mind? Please encourage them to apply or nominate them!

We had discussed adding polls to the Informer. After researching that, doing so would require a special software with a fee so we will focus on more polls during member meetings and events.

Lastly, the Executive Director job is posted and I understand resumes are coming in! Kristy and Toni are leading the receipt of them.
