I’m back with a 2nd apology! Apparently, I was juggling too many balls yesterday :(

First of all, I sent the wrong attachment – that was an early draft. Attached is what MHCA has already submitted to the City.

Secondly, I’m sorry that my subject made it appear that I was looking for your comments. I am asking you to send comments to the City (see email text for directions). The health care group that’s working on this is asking for more voices to make a stronger statement.

Today, I vow to slow down a bit and appreciate grace :)

Hello Board and Legislative Team Members:

As many of you are aware, the City of Minneapolis is in conversation regarding a sick leave mandate for all employees who work in Minneapolis and St. Paul has also introduced the topic.

In Minneapolis, “work in” references the location of where you provide service (e.g. client’s home) vs where your office is located. At this point, they are still contemplating a requirement that all employees who work more than 80 hours per year must be eligible for paid sick leave.

MHCA needs your help! A group of health care organizations are collaboratively working to influence the recommendation that will go before the Minneapolis City Council and more voices are needed. Please consider sending an email<mailto:WRP-Staff@minneapolismn.gov> this week to the Workforce Partnership Group, sharing how this will impact your agency. You are welcome to utilize talking points from the attached document. Help us ensure that the voice of home care is heard!
Individuals interested in sharing comments with the St. Paul task force can post comments online on Open Saint Paul<https://www.peakdemocracy.com/3394>. City staff and task force members will incorporate comments into the earned sick and safe time decision-making process.

Warm Regards,
