New Director of Quality and Performance Excellence to Lead Quality Initiative

In her recent Commentary, LeadingAge Minnesota President & CEO Gayle Kvenvold outlined the key elements of a new quality initiative that we are launching for 2016:

• A new webinar series on managing Quality Indicators;
• Our first annual Quality Conference showcasing best practices in quality improvement;
• A new leadership program in partnership with the Performance Excellence Network;
• Identification of Standards and Metrics in partnership with the Minnesota Hospital Association;
• Development of a new Quality Recognition Program;
• Expansion of the data and benchmarking available through Quality Metrics; and
• Greater access to participation in Clinical Demonstration Projects.

Leading this effort will be our new Director of Quality and Performance Excellence. This new position will: 1) Provide strategic and technical assistance to members on quality improvement systems, clinical best practices, compliance with quality assurance regulations, and effective use and collection of quality metrics; 2) Advise and represent members on state and federal policy issues related to quality; and 3) Develop resources to assist members in their quality improvement activities and recognize providers for performance excellence.
