Yes, that rule needs to be rescinded. Impossible to comply with & not necessary.

Congrats Denise on having your survey behind you!

Glad they are gone and I agree that is ridiculous.

Hi-

Survey team has just exited. Will share with you our probable tags. I would really like to see MHCA address the ridiculous issue of documentation of orientation to each patient’s care in employee personnel files, as surveyors are interpreting the licensure requirement.

Good news-The surveyors have exited the building….. Yay!

First-thank you to the staff who performed home visits with the surveyors-you represented us well! The surveyors recognized our amazing staff and report highly satisfied patients!

Kudos to Brenda Siedschlag, Pete Skupeko, Melissa Rauch, Heather Betters, Natalie Nelson, Sybilla Materla, Dave White, Denise Thales,  Linda O’Malley and Jody Ogden (who had only 45 minutes warning of the visit with the surveyor- you are awesome!).

Other key individuals who helped insure a successful survey include:

Those in the office who helped out in so many ways-we would not have survived without you! Kudos to: Eric, Sue A, Sandy, Lisa K, Courtney, Susan F, Betsy, Barb U, Kristal, Cheryl and Amy.

The System support team of Cindy Mc and Cindy E really shined! They were awesome support to our surveyors!

The local Ops Team did so much-Jody B, Lisa E, Shari H, Kerry O and Aaron B and Jill A

Last but not least is everybody who kept the show running while we busy-this is why we are a great team!

Preliminary Survey Findings:

Great News-We have no “Condition” deficiencies (these are the really bad ones). The following areas may require correction, once we receive the formal report (possibly not for several weeks).

Federal (Medicare) Certification items:

Missed visit documentation, med regimine review (2 patients had OTC meds in their homes that were not in the EMR) and HHA competency testing on one employee

State Licensure items:

How employees handle medication spillage, documentation of orientation of each clinician seeing a patient, annual Bill of Rights training, documentation of the abuse assessment, and  managing  medications while patients are on LOA  (the last two items we are pushing back on and the surveyors will be discussing with their supervisors).

Although we all ascribe to perfection, our surveyors informed us that on average they are issuing 20 deficiencies upon survey- in their assessment, we performed very well during survey. Most importantly, we are committed to excellent patient care and service regardless of surveyor presence.

Thank you again for your commitment to our patients and the agency. We hope you will join us in celebrating a successful survey at 4:30 PM at Obbs.
