Oh my stars and garters – it just never ends. Moving is awful – just ask me! I do, however, like the Board liaison idea.
Hang in there team!

Subject: [External Email] confidential news
I am writing to share that the owners of our office building have asked Trellis to consider moving. As a reminder, we sub-lease from Trellis – as does MNHPC and Elder Justice Center. Kristy and I talked about this yesterday and we believe
that continuing to lease from Trellis is wise – it’s been an excellent partnership. Regardless of our decision, it is likely another office move is on the horizon for MHCA! The Trellis CEO indicated that they’d include us in discussions if we choose to make
the move with them, giving us the opportunity to share our priorities with them (e.g. ease of access, free parking). Feel free to share input with me.
Please note that the Trellis board is aware of this but their staff have not yet been notified. I will share this news with MHCA staff once Trellis does the same so I’m asking you to keep this confidential at
this point so the staff hears the news from me.
Secondly, the Executive Committee has made a decision regarding the board liaison role. We will essentially keep the board liaison role, encouraging board members to remain engaged in our committee/workgroup work. We will, however, move
forward with more flexibility. For example, we may have more than one board member on one committee/workgroup and none on another, dependent on needs each year. I will poll the board members regarding their preferences this fall, as usual.
Kind Regards,
Kathy Messerli
