Now that the conference is over, it’s time to plan for next year! One of our top priorities is to select the venue and I welcome your input. For the most part, we received positive comments on Mystic Lake. The exceptions are related to the room temperature and the casino. Advantages of this site include pricing, convenient hotel accommodations and food. IF we return, we could do the following things differently:

- Refer to the location as the Mystic Lake Hotel or Mystic Lake conference center, deleting reference to the casino

- Give better directions to the hotel entrance

- Change the theme, design to something that doesn’t have a casino/Las Vegas feel.

Please share your thoughts on considering Mystic Lake for next year.

One more item……At the board meeting, we set the legislative priority for EHRs as low. When Candy spoke yesterday, we had great interest from members who are looking for help with moving forward. I’d like us to consider forming an EHR Task Force that can address “how to help members.” This would likely have more of an education focus but may include some input for the Legislative Team as they address this issue. We have some members who are engaged in statewide workgroups and have expressed interest in participating in an MHCA group. Please state whether or not you support this. If there is board support, I’ll develop a plan to get this going and ask members to express an interest in being considered for this task force. I will recommend that Candy be a part of this task force.
