I did speak with Chris Serres today. He is working on a story re: what he has heard is “explosive” growth in home care franchises in Minnesota and the how “highly competitive” marketplace that exists to get referrals. He is interested in
talking with nursing homes/assisted living providers in terms of what they are seeing to provide perspective on what he is hearing from various home care franchises he has talked tore:
1.)
Explosive growth in home care franchises
2.)
Competitive marketplace as home care franchises buy territories and are now competing for business w/ more providers of home care services
3.)
More sales calls from home care franchises to nursing homes and assisted living communities to get referrals, and this includes such item as holding classes for staff and/or residents among other tactics.
He is also interested in looking at what a nursing home and/or assisted living community may look at in terms of making a referral to a home care agency.
I am calling around to some of our members to see if we can connect him with providers. At this point, Aging Services isn’t planning on speaking with him as he is looking for a provider perspective.
