As discussed at the last board meeting, I have been reviewing our options for a business partner that would be a good fit for the Board. With VBP around the corner, I think it makes sense that we bring on someone who can add value on that topic. We only have one Business Partner member that would bring that to the table – SimiTree. Laura Wilson from SimiTree lives in Minnesota, worked for a MN home care provider, has presented for us before and is doing the VBP webinar next week. You may recall her co-presenting with Eric Scharber on True Colors in 2020. With Joelle’s blessing, I’d like to recommend that the board vote her onto the board.

The Bylaws say the BP term is one year vs three years. I believe it would be good to bring someone on sooner rather than later if we want them to bring VBP value. Joelle and I are asking for an email vote for electing Laura to the MHCA Board for the remainder of 2022, in order to be in sync with the rest of the board terms. If elected, we would be able to invite her to the May board meeting, when we plan to meet in person. With this being a short term, I’d suggest we plan to re-elect her again this fall for a full year in 2023. We can then decide to transition to another content expert for 2024 if we wish.

Two additional thoughts: she is very interested and willing! And, she’s delightful!
