Oh wow…that is indeed impressive!
Kudos to him for seeing the value of home-based care and how important our industry is today, and will continue to be in the future.

USE CAUTION - EXTERNAL EMAIL
Senator Abeler presented his HHS proposal, which includes multiple home care provisions - far more than we anticipated! We need to manage our expectations since negotiations with the House will determine the final bill language but Sen Abeler went to bat for home care once again, with a 40% base rate increase and more!! The following is included in the Senate proposal:
- Investing increased funds in the reimbursement rates for Home Health Aides, Skilled Nursing, Home Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Therapies
- Reforming the reimbursement system for Homemaker Services
- More fully implementing the data driven rate reimbursement system for the Personal Care Assistance Program
- Increasing the funds available for individuals who provide services within the Personal Care Assistance enhanced rate category
- Allowing a Personal Care Assistant to be reimbursed for time spent driving a service recipient
It is unclear whether the House proposal will be out this week or if we will need to wait until after their Easter break. I will keep you posted as we learn more.
Be Well,
