Oh boy. I agree with all of you! We are healthcare professionals, knew there was a risk. Now we know of positive cases almost 2 weeks ago, MHCA was not notified timely as requested,
etc.
Our policy stated we request to be notified after the conference if you had symptoms or tested positive, doesn’t indicate that we will notify attendees but that was our intention.
We know it now and can let attendees know. All HCW will have to follow their own protocols anyway.
After the Conference
1. If you attended the Annual Meeting, please email education@mnhomecare.org if
you:
a. Have symptoms of
COVID-19.
b. Test positive for COVID-19.
c. Learn that you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
GO AWAY COVID!

Although I dislike the idea of having to inform attendees, I think it is the right thing to do. It certainly is late in the game, but I’d recommend we share the information & then allow attendees to make their own decisions on how best
to proceed according to their agencies recommendations.

Ugh…definitely not something we want to have to be worrying about!
I guess my feeling is that generally speaking, vaccinated people are not quarantining due to potential exposure to a positive case. In this situation, the vast majority of the attendees were vaccinated and probably wouldn’t quarantine anyway.
If we know specific individuals that may have been more directly exposed, we could certainly reach out to them…but I’m not really sure if you told me that, I would do anything differently.
So I guess I don’t think the association needs to put something out…however I wouldn’t be adamantly opposed to that if others thought it was the right thing to do.
At the end of the day, everybody did their best to protect themselves and others at the meeting….and we screened people for vaccination or a negative test coming in. And even after all of that, we all knew there would be a risk in attending,
just like there’s a risk in going to work or the grocery store – right?
😊

We were just made aware of at least two Covid cases from the Annual Meeting. Unfortunately, MHCA was not notified as had been requested so conference attendees were not notified of the cases. Please advise on how you’d like us to proceed.
Here are some considerations:
