Subject: Board Liaison

I’m writing today regarding the board liaison positions for 2022 but I’d be remiss if I didn’t address the latest news.

You all should have received an email from me late yesterday regarding the latest news on healthcare worker vaccines. MDH did not receive advance notice and is unable to answer questions regarding logistics at this time. I am seeking clarification from MDH and DHS on the breadth of this mandate and we await CMS’ interim rule and comment period, which is expected in October. In the meantime, I am encouraging those who ask to start collecting vaccine status if they have not already done so – and to utilize MHCA’s resources to educate their staff. Please let me know if you have specific questions we should be asking and what ideas you have regarding resources and information MHCA should be preparing for our members. I’m the Covid point person with Brianna on leave and may ask some committees for assistance, if needed.

Now, onto the committee work…….attached is the draft committee structure the board will review and approve at the next meeting. Please review this and let me know your 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd choice for which group you’d like to serve as board liaison. I will work with Andrea and Joelle on the appointments. We will be reviewing committee leaders at the October meeting also.
