There isn’t much celebrating going on at the Capitol these days but we have something to toast! The Human Services Policy bill, which contains the language MHCA worked on related to allowing Non-Physician Practitioners (NPPs) to order home health, has now been passed off the house and senate floor and is expected to be signed in law by Gov Walz. MHCA is awaiting further guidance from DHS but this will be effective upon the Governor’s signature.
Kudos to Kevin Goodno for working with Karen Peterson to determine what revisions were needed in the state statutes after the CARES Act passed on the federal level. This state-level changes ensure that Home Care Nursing (formerly PDN) and therapy orders can be authorized by the NPPs.
