The rosters look good.

Nice job of getting everything organized in the new structure.

Subject: approve committees and 6 pm news today - time sensitive
Importance: High

Great news!! We had a record number of applicants for the MHCA committees this year. We have been working diligently to fill the committee leader and member slots and are ready to begin scheduling orientations and meetings. Attached is a spreadsheet with several workbooks (open across the bottom left for each committee/workgroup). The names in orange have agreed to serve in that leader role and red indicates I am waiting on a response.

According to our protocol, the Executive Committee can approve the committee rosters, but we left several leader roles vacant when we reviewed this in May and I would like your input on the current rosters, which include Chairs and Vice Chairs. I am awaiting acceptance from a Vice Chair for the Member Relations and Education Committee and have opted not to name Vice Chairs for a couple of the groups. The MDH Workgroup is designed to be an ‘as needed group’ so I don’t believe a Vice Chair role would feel fulfilling nor do I think it’s needed. The Payment Reform group is already small and I see this as more of a short-term workgroup so didn’t name a Vice Chair.

You will note that the sizes of groups vary, as was approved earlier. There were many volunteers for the Clinical Rehab and Regulatory Committee and we were able to place some volunteers on other groups, if they offered a 2nd choice. Unfortunately, a few members will not be accepted for placement this year, for a variety of reasons.

We do have a few more emails out to individuals and I anticipate a short addendum in the near future – but I’d like to get started with the scheduling due to our tight timeline. Please email your acceptance (or not) of the attached rosters by end of business tomorrow (Weds).  I’m happy to address any questions you may have.

And secondly, KSTP interviewed me this afternoon regarding the workforce shortage for PCAs. I don’t know how much, if any, will be used as they cut to fit the broadcast, but it’s scheduled for KSTP 6 pm news today. Eric Rasmussen is fairly new to KSTP and this hopefully is the start of a good relationship.
