This is always the stance that we’ve taken as well, but we now have providers that can prescribe it so it ends up being on our med list.

 

We also had a patient recently where they didn’t disclose they were using recreational marijuana initially and we couldn’t figure out why there INR was so wonky… well it was the marijuana. 

 

I’m curious what other are doing.  It may be time to look at our process/policy again!

I have always been told by legal not to add that to anything due to it not being federally legal.  Not even on your medication profile.  You can notify the MD that the patient is using, but it should not be in orders, medication profile, or your POC.
