Hi!
Reaching out today because MHCA’s Day at the Capitol is coming up on the week of February 17, and I’d like to encourage you to join us. Our advocacy is most effective when legislators hear from their constituents (they’ve often told us it’s the best way to
raise concerns), and Day at the Capitol is designed to get you in front of your lawmakers.
These are different times in the MN House. While we certainly hope the two parties have overcome their current political differences by February 17, it remains important for you to connect with your legislators, regardless of their political affiliation. House
Republicans are meeting with constituents on the Capitol Grounds and the House Democrats are meeting with constituents via Zoom.
MHCA will host a virtual kickoff session on February 17, and we’ll be at the Capitol February 18 for legislator meetings. You’ll also have an opportunity to attend a Senate Health and Human Services Committee hearing – come for as much as you can!
We make it easy for you if you’ve never advocated at the Capitol before, so don’t worry if you’re new. You can even be assigned a mentor, if you wish.
