I wanted to ensure you all saw this announcement in yesterday's Informer. It's very important that we have a licensed provider that's familiar with home care to represent providers on this council. I hope you will consider applying and or share
this with other colleagues who may be interested. Well, they would not tell me the deadline, it looks like applying by Monday would be really valuable.
HOME CARE AND ASSISTED LIVING COUNCIL OPENING
The Home Care and Assisted Living Advisory Council is authorized to provide advice to the Home Care and Assisted Living programs in the Health Regulation Division of the Minnesota Department of Health, the regulatory authority
for licensed home care and assisted living providers. One of the home care representative positions is now
open, and MHCA is encouraging home care provider leaders to consider applying for this position. This group is at a crossroads with its future, and it’s critical home care comprehensive (including Medicare Certified) licensed providers have a seat at the
table for the group that is responsible for the following and more:
- Community standards for home care and assisted living practices
- Enforcement of licensing standards and disciplinary actions
- Training standards
- Recommending how the ‘fines fund’ is spent
