Subject: 3rd Party Quality Review
Do any of you use a 3rd party to review OASIS coding (either internal or external)?
If yes, do the 3rd party reviewers change the OASIS coding to reflect the documentation present in the OASIS visit note? Or is it sent back to the clinician with recommendations to update based on recommendations?
We are looking at outsourcing options vs keeping quality review in house and it sounds like some external 3rd party reviewers make the OASIS changes and alert the clinician of changes being made with the option to disagree.
