Hello Medicare Workgroup!

 

Thanks to all who were able to attend yesterday’s Medicare workgroup meeting, there was great discussion.  For those that were unable to attend, minutes are attached.

 

A significant portion of this meeting was spent reviewing the 2024 proposed rule, and your input is needed.

 

A main charge of this workgroup is to provide feedback on the proposed rule and assist with composing a comment letter to CMS on behalf of MHCA. 

Comments are due to CMS by 8/29/23, so our timeframe to pull this together is short.  Therefore, the expectation is for ALL members of this group to review the attached draft document and submit feedback to Brianna by end of day, August 11^th.

 

We’re seeking your feedback on 4 main portions of the proposed rule:

1. Payment Provisions
2. Quality Reporting System
3. Value Based Purchasing
4. All Other HH Provisions (e.g., nNPWT, IVIG, Lymphedema, DMEPOS)
5. *Hospice - for those that would like to include comments related to hospice (MNHPC will not be submitting comments)

 

In addition to providing feedback on the attached document, we ask that each of you complete, or have someone from your agency complete, the Home Health Aide utilization survey.  Feedback from this survey will be incorporated into the comment letter.  MHCA HH Proposed Rule HHAide Utilization survey

 

Lastly, the workgroup will meet again on August 15^th from 2:30-3:30 to go through feedback and start formatting the comment letter. Brianna will tie it all together after this meeting and send a draft comment letter to the group for review.  Again, our timeframe is short, but it is so crucial for us to come together and make our voices heard.
