☹ it’s a tough case because if we do have to provide these supplies. Supplies alone will cost us about $2000 per month. Can’t keep the doors open with that

Assuming this is a Mdcr patient, you might want to check on the Consolidated Billing List to see if the supplies are on there (if you have the HCPCs codes). They might not be included if they are specialized
supplies. It’s worth a try. Otherwise, I don’t think you can discharge her due to the high costs of supplies- unfortunately.

Sorry for bugging everyone, but you all are my best sources for random HC questions at times when I’m stuck. Hello! We just admitted someone with a fistula that requires insanely expensive supplies, and just figured out her whole supply
list after we did the admit. We can’t afford to provide this care due to the supply expense. Any advice or tips for what we can do? I guess she needs these specific supplies due to allergies and reactions, so it’s the only thing they say they will use, but
these pouches alone will cost us $3000 for her episode and her ability to be teachable anytime soon for DC is not likely.
