After checking with our Claims Department, here are a couple responses I received:
I have added Peggy to this email, and she has expressed that there has been an increase. She stated it had something to
do with Covid Relief being lifted. If I am remember that correctly, I will speak to her when she gets in about it.
Thank you. Have a good morning!

Yes, I have seen an increase both in the number of new people getting spend downs and current ones
with an increased in the monthly amount. Timeline is Feb to April.
Some clients have gone from copay only to spenddown, others spend downs have increased per month.
Thanks

Subject: Spend Downs
Hello!
Is any other agencies experiencing a higher volume of spend downs for their client base? We provide nursing, HHA and PCA services and we are seeing an increase come through, started slowly around February. The amounts vary from 60 – 327,
for clients that have previously not had a spend down. Just wondering if it is just our clients or if maybe others are seeing it and something is not right.
Just for this past remit – we had 6 Medicaid clients now reflecting spend downs. Any insight is appreciated, thank you!
