I always call Humana and confirm. Their EOB’s are not always understood correctly.

Sorry, I used the incorrect term - If it’s listed as patient responsibility on the eob I always call the provider line to verify the copay/co insurance.

Some Humana MDCR plans do have copays, but I always call their Provider service center to verify the claim processed correctly. If I bill a copay to the patient and it’s disputed, I then have the follow up detail in my notes for reference.

Subject: Humana co-ins
Recently received a payment from Humana stating the patient owed money for a co-ins. Has anyone been successful in billing the patient and getting payment from them? My understanding we can't bill the patient if we accept Medicare.
Please let me know if I am wrong and should bill the patient without getting into a legal dispute.
