We only bill for PT visits making sure PT oversees PTAs.

Would you use the same CPT code for both the PT and PTA visits?  Since often times the authorizations obtained are CPT code specific.

Not to my knowledge, the PT auth should cover the PTA visits as long as the PTA is followed by a PT as normal

When billing for Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant visits to payers that are not Medicare, such as UCare, South Country and the VA for example.  Do you need to get two separate authorizations, one specifically for the PT visits and another specifically for the PTA visits?
