Scratch that! I went to do my auths today and in evicore it said I was not authorized. Availity allows me to search old auths but when trying to update the auth I am blocked. I got ahold of my contact at Evicore and apparently, they were told Monday that BCBS completely pulled out. Evicore is no longer an option. I was told to contact provider services for issues.

As of 8/1 Evicore was discontinued and all new auths should go through Availity. This is for all plans. There was a bulitin for the Medicaid products but according to both our contact at Evicore and our rep this includes all plans. Poor planning on Blue's side again. Evicore however will remain accessible for 180 days and will allow updates to auths that were already opened through them for that timeframe.

Has one heard any update or received any information from BCBS on authorization for the Med Advantage plans that used to be thru Evicore? My auth team is not able to do anything more on the Evicore site and has been able to request some auth through Availity, but looking for more information if anyone has heard about the extension authorization for continued services, etc. Last time we called BCBS they said to do it through Evicore. So, we are trying to call again, but they never seem to know much! 🙂
