I agree moving the primary sounds wrong but I would try it it's going to time out and at least you are paid. Document everything so if in the future someone doesn't have something better to do than audit claims that should have
been paid the way they were initially submitted, you have your documentation of them telling you to do it.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Diagnosis code question
Good morning,
Are any providers having issues with Optum bundled claims that had dates of service Sept through Oct 2023? I have a claim that is continuously deleted out of Optum's system due to diagnosis code being invalid. The diagnosis code is G20. I spoke with our coder
and she recommended updating the code to G20A1 since that was effective 10/1/23. We tried that same reason for them deleting it: diagnosis code invalid. I have tried appealing the claim. I have tried having management review the claim they recommended sending
the claim via fax with G20 diagnosis code. It again was deleted. The rep I talked to this morning recommended taking the G20 out of the primary diagnosis spot and moving it to a different spot on the claim and using a different diagnosis code as the primary
diagnosis. This doesn't sound right to me we shouldn't have to change the primary diagnosis code just because their system is not wanting to process the claim. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to resolve this? I really would appreciate any guidance
anyone would have I am out of ideas at this time!
