Thank you.  I just assumed that any “procedure” completed by a hospice provider is just part of the per diem that we bill to insurance.   Of course with the exception of the professional fee with rev code 0657.

I know I can bill a professional charge (rev code 0657) on the hospice claim, but can I bill a procedure code, in this instance Abdominal Paracentesis (49080-49081) on a hospice claim?

I say no but I’m not 100% sure that I can’t.

I might not be understanding correctly, it sounds like it should be a separate claim.  Or, are you asking if you can bill for a Physician visit on your hospice claim using the procedure codes below?
