Do a new claim so if they deny it as duplicate, you can go and do an adjusted claim on first one. And they are WRONG!!!!! Ugh… lol

I have a few claims for a patient who has a Ucare Individual & Family plan, that suddenly UCare is denying because there is no Occurance code 50 (which is only required for Medicare).
They paid another claim for this patient just fine. I called UCare and they sent the claims back, I just heard back today that their decision stands and I need to bill with an Occurance code 50.
In the past when UCare has totally denied my claim, I am pretty sure I just submitted a new claim. If they had paid something and the payment was incorrect I would then send a replacement
claim. The person I just spoke to said I should send replacement claims for these denied claims. My gut says I should send a new claim because my claims were denied and nothing was paid. Since the UCare provider services is not very reliable, I am wondering
what you have all done when you need to re-bill a denied Ucare claim?
