Hello April,

 

We rarely have a Medicare secondary as well, it is always trial error for me to figure it out.  Did you send your Medicare claim to cover 30 days?  You might have to manually create that.  Can you go into your COB tab and manually enter a 0.00 payment for your 0023 line and 0.01 contractual adjustment for your Q5001?

Good afternoon,

I am not very familiar with billing Medicare secondary. We had a patient that had a BC plan primary over Medicare. We billed BC the claims went out as 323 claims with G codes. We are trying to bill Medicare secondary but the claim is stuck in the clearinghouse due to the 0023 line and Q5001 lines needing adjustments in the detail tab of the claim. Those line items were not billed to the primary insurance since the claims generated with 323 types of bill and G codes. Is there a way to get the claim through? What should be reflected on these line items? I tried contacting the clearinghouse and they were not any help. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
