Ucare is taking a very long time to process and reprocess claims as already mentioned.

 

Secondly, we have been having issues with them denying our Final claims after we have sent a NOA (Notice of Admission) which they require for the Medicare payer types.

Yeah, they must be really behind. The last time I called which was probably about a month ago I was told allow 120 days for the claim to be reviewed.

I called on a bunch of claims yesterday. These are claims I have called on already, and also did a lcaims adjustment form on over 2 months ago. I was told it will be another 60-90 days before they will be reprocessed.

What I have been doing is calling on them and literally quoting this email to the rep from Brianna Lindell. They have been having the claims sent back for review noting this information. Quite a few of them have paid when doing that. But I am having to have them sent back more than once in order for it to pay it seems like. I still have a few outstanding ones that I will be calling to follow up on again. Good luck! If anyone has a better way of getting these resolved I would be interested in hearing your input as well! I'm sure we are all tired of calling on these old claims.

I am just wondering if everybody’s Ucare claims have been reprocessed by now on our Dual members, Elderly Waiver patients. 

 

They still have not adjusted mine and I have talked to Provider Services many times.

Mine are getting old as are from January 2023. 

 

If yours have been adjusted and paid, what did you do to get them paid?

Is there a contact person you can share with me?

How is everyone billing Ucare – Type of Bill, Occ Code Yes or No, Q Codes on claims?

 

Any help is very much appreciated before timely filing plays into this…..

Thank you to everyone who came forward and allowed MHCA to provide your agency name to UCare.

We received an update from the leadership team and would like to pass on their resolution to the issue many have been facing. See below for the message from UCare:

 

For Dual member claims:  Providers must continue to bill appropriately for home health care services based on Medicare and/or DHS requirements.  UCare has lifted the edit that was previously in place for dual eligible claims.  UCare will also be adjusting claims that were inappropriately denied due to the lack of Occurrence code 50 on DHS only covered services dating back to dates of service 2022.   This adjustment of claims will take several weeks.  Agencies that have edited claims to get them paid will not be reprocessed and should not be affected.

Providers may contact the UCare Provider Assistance Center by phone at 612-676-3300 or 1-888-531-1493 or pac@ucare.org with further questions.

Hi,

 

MHCA has been working behind the scenes to try and assist with the issues surrounding UCare over the last few months.

 

The leadership team at UCare is asking for a list of agencies who have had issues with UCare dually eligible and dually integrated claim issues.

I believe if we can give them a decent list of providers name who have been impacted, it will show the depth of this issue and hopefully lead to a system wide solution; one they have informed us this morning they are working towards.

 

My ask- if your agency is comfortable with sharing your name in the list I send over, please let me know by the end of the day tomorrow.
