Hi Sue,
We have had situations where a patient is on Medicare and needs the HM services but does not have other insurance but they have agreed to pay privately for just the homemaking services. I am not sure I have ever had a patient on Medicare and billing another insurance for the HM services though at the same time. I believe that could happen if the patient had a waiver open though. Just not sure I have had that situation. Generally, when we have billed a waiver for homemaking the patient has a MSHO policy open.

Has anyone billed another insurance for the homemaker charges that Medicare will not cover? The Medica is not a secondary coverage to Medicare. We are billing straight to Medicare as the patient is Homebound and qualifies to bill to Medicare directly.

Thank you!
