I got a remit form UCARE today where they reprocessed 87 of my claims. These were rebilled by me and paid so no change was made to payment. I have not had any deny for this reason in the last week. I need to call them though so I will let you know what I find out.

Hi,

 

Thank you to everyone who came forward and allowed MHCA to provide your agency name to UCare.

We received an update from the leadership team and would like to pass on their resolution to the issue many have been facing. See below for the message from UCare:

 

For Dual member claims:  Providers must continue to bill appropriately for home health care services based on Medicare and/or DHS requirements.  UCare has lifted the edit that was previously in place for dual eligible claims.  UCare will also be adjusting claims that were inappropriately denied due to the lack of Occurrence code 50 on DHS only covered services dating back to dates of service 2022.   This adjustment of claims will take several weeks.  Agencies that have edited claims to get them paid will not be reprocessed and should not be affected.

Hi,

 

MHCA has been working behind the scenes to try and assist with the issues surrounding UCare over the last few months.

 

The leadership team at UCare is asking for a list of agencies who have had issues with UCare dually eligible and dually integrated claim issues.

I believe if we can give them a decent list of providers name who have been impacted, it will show the depth of this issue and hopefully lead to a system wide solution; one they have informed us this morning they are working towards.

 

My ask- if your agency is comfortable with sharing your name in the list I send over, please let me know by the end of the day tomorrow.
