We are having the same issue with the county case managers getting the UCARE authorization for our patients.  Can you please give me the email address again that you had county workers send authorization request to?

This has been an incredibly frustrating process.  I have been asking county workers to fax to this email address: 'hcm_fax@ucare.org'

 

When they do, I typically get the authorization same day.  Also, before I complain to the county worker, I always look it up on the U-Care portal.  There have been several that didn’t get sent to us but I found on there

What I am finding is that Ucare had an issue with the 5841 forms.  I had multiple client’s CM’s submit  the 5841 forms starting last year and claims were paid for these clients.  Then as of 1.1.2023 Ucare stopped paying so I have had to call and have CM’s resend the 5841 forms, again, so they the auth will show in Ucare system.

Yes having the same issue! We finally got an authorization back the other day for services that started in March. I had to call the county multiple times and talk to the Ucare rep and the county care coordinator. I am not sure what finally resolved it but I think the care coordinator got frustrated and contacted Ucare directly.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is having delays in receiving Ucare auths. I know the waiver managers we are dealing with are very frustrated with Ucare right now. They have to fax the auths like 3-4 times before they get it. Not sure what the issue is. I tried to call and of course Ucare is of no help!! The normal excuse of I am not sure whats going on.
