Make a spreadsheet of claims and start resending them the way ucare wants them. Don’t get overwhelmed, just do 20 a day if you need to.. UCARE did notify us medicare plans would be following the pdgm format but we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. The bulletin she pointed you to simply says to follow cms requirements. Which is a total cop out and says NOTHING. One of the Payer liaison members are talking with a rep from ucare on this so please watch for info in the next month. Hang in there!

Because when I called Ucare on Friday, I talked to a supervisor and she told me about like 6-7 plans including Medicare connect and MSHO plans changed the way to submit starting 2023. I said over and over are you sure and she said yes. She directed me to the bulletin that was on Ucare website in November 2022. I said “why wouldn’t providers be notified of the change, I don’t understand how no one was notified”! She kept saying all our updates go out via bulletin and I said I had no idea. I have over 275 claims that have denied bc majority of our Ucare clients are MSHO and Medicare Connect. The Ucare MA claims have paid. I don’t know what to do from here.  And yes. All our claims (from January) were finally processed the last few weeks, but denied. Ucare’s processing time is crazy!!

Any help or insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You.

When I bill my MSHO and Connect claims, I do not put the occurrence code on my claims. I did not have to make any changes or adjustments from 2022. They were just processed very slowly initially.

I believe there have been a bunch of threads regarding the Ucare denials for Occurrence code 50. I just got added to the group and have another question. Has everyone billed all like MSHO, Medicare Connect, Medicare and like 3 other individual plans with the occurrence codes starting January 1st of 2023? If so did you have to add the assessment date on the claim as well or just add the Occurrence code 50. Also are you still submitting FFS or billing episodically.

Thank you for the help.
