Your software may also have a spot that is calling the submission a resubmit because you unlocked, edited, and re-locked to submit. There may be a way for you to mark your submissions as initial on your export so that CMS does not look for another earlier file. Your software rep should be able to tell you if it works this way. We don’t use Allscripts, but I believe the software package that we are using works this way. Might be worth looking into. Good luck!

Subject: RE: Oasis Question

Angela, this has to do with the instructions your software vender gave you.  I am not familiar with how Allscripts works, but whenever you create an OASIS and then inactivate and then submit your files will be rejected.    It sounds like this is the process they asked you do to.  You have 2 options depending on how your software works.  1.  You can delete all of the OASIS that were rejected and the originals (if your software lets you) and complete the data entry correctly or 2. Submit the first incorrect batch, then once they are accepted you then submit the corrected batch (the one that was just rejected).

You currently won’t have a double submission because the state rejected your batch.

Subject: Oasis Question

Hello-

I am not sure if anyone can help, but here is a question,

I am wondering about an Oasis submission question. I exported Oasis’s from my software system Allscripts that weren’t coded yet. I realized it right away and called Allscripts to get direction on what to do. I followed their directions and kept that file without submitting it to CMS on my computer, fixed the assessments by unlocking them so they would populate in the next Oasis export. When I exported the Oasis assessments again (after I unlocked and coded them) I then submitted them to CMS. All of the assessments were rejected due to them not having the original Oasis on file first.

Would it be safe to submit that first exported file with the Oasis assessments that weren’t coded and risk double submitting an assessment?
