I am the only biller here.  I bill for home care, case management, PHNC, family health, imms and interdepartmental billing as well as do our grant reporting.  We currently have 76 home care clients.

We are a small agency so I oversee our billing and we have our intake also assist with authorizations but we outsource our billing to a 3rd party since we don't have a large enough census to support another full time employee. So we pay a % of what is collected to our billers.

That’s a tough call. It really depend on what other tasks you need them to do. Will they do authorizations also? Are they experienced? Do you have more hospice than homecare? I am a biller and I do a lot of other tasks and have years of experience and that makes a huge difference.
