We are a small agency so I oversee our billing and we have our intake also assist with authorizations but we outsource our billing to a 3rd party since we don't have a large enough census to support another full time employee. So we pay a % of what is collected to our billers.

That’s a tough call. It really depend on what other tasks you need them to do. Will they do authorizations also? Are they experienced? Do you have more hospice than homecare? I am a biller and I do a lot of other tasks and have years of experience and that makes a huge difference.

Hi all.

 

Hope you are doing well this winter.  I am trying to determine how many billers are needed for Home Health and Hospice in relation to census.  I’m looking for a standard or comparison of billers needed and am interested in what the community has.
