Did the RAPs go out?  I was thinking that you could do the 8/11 to a new SOC  but trying to think how the RAPS would go /penalized if not?

Hi all!

Thank you for the input so far.

The issue we are having is that we do not know what to do with billing. I do know late recerts should be avoided at all costs. They were documented properly and the PCP was notified.

They can be done late, it is not recommended of course, but they can be completed after the cert period last day.

Hello Brianna,

Maybe I am not understanding the situation correctly, I do not believe there can be a late Re-cert.

This is from the online CMS Manual.

Hi all,

I am looking for help for a MHCA member:

The patient had a SOC on 6/3/21 and the original cert period was 6/3-8/1. The nurse did a late recert and dated the next cert period at 8/11 instead of 8/2. All of the subsequent cert dates and OASIS have been off due to this error. The patient has Medicare.

Has anyone had a situation like this before? What did you do to correct it?

Thanks!
