Hi April.  I was forwarded your email below to try to help you with the issues you are experiencing with claims denials.

 

There has been an issue identified last week where some incorrect coding was added to the Amerigroup system.  This is causing home health codes T1021, T1030, T1031, etc. to deny in error.  The system coding is in the process of being corrected at this time.  Once the correction is complete, a claims sweep will be done for all affected claims.  Through this claims sweep, all claims that are identified as denying incorrectly due to this error, will be adjusted.  I don’t have an ETA at this time since it is currently in process.  However, the claims will be adjusted automatically, and  you won’t need to reach out to request that the claims be adjusted.

Good afternoon,

We are a home health care agency that is having trouble all of a sudden receiving reimbursement for T1030 and T1021 codes. The patients all have BC MSHO and are on the MA side of the benefit. We have had these patients and received payments no problem in the past. Dates of service August and after we have been having increasing denials. All of the denials are for service not being covered under Medicare. I have had many of these claims sent back for review. The ones that been reviewed we received letters from BC stating the decision has been upheld. There are many other home care agencies having the same issue. Can you please look into this issue and let me know what we need to do to get these claims processed? Thank you so much! I look forward to hearing back from you.
