Good Morning Steph,

Thank you for reaching out regarding Electronic Visit Verification (EVV). We plan to implement EVV in two phases. Personal care services will go-live first in Dec. 1, 2021 followed by home health services. We anticipate that home health services will be implemented before the Jan. 1, 2023 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services deadline. You can expect to hear more regarding implementation of home health services after Dec. 1, 2021 go-live date for personal care services.

We have posted new information to the EVV webpage regarding next steps for providers to implement EVV. Included in that information is a link to the HHAX Minnesota Provider Information Center webpage which contains the specification requirements to connect a third party system to the state’s aggregator (HHAX). You can review this now to help you make a decision on if you will be using the state system through HHAX which comes at no charge or selecting an alternative system which will have to be connected to the HHAX aggregator. You do not have to make your decision now as a home health agency but this information will help you get started.

We are a Home Health Care Agency who provides SN visits, Home Health Aide and Hmkr services.  The last info we had received it looked like this would be starting for personal care agencies first and added for Home Health Agencies in 2023.  We are just trying to verify that.  Could you confirm it stats in 2023 for us?

Thank you,
