Hello April,
It is supposed to take care of itself in the Medicare system. But you can also cancel it if you like.

Subject: No pay rap question
**External Sender** |
Good afternoon,
This question has probably come up before, but of course I can't seem to find the answer when I am looking for it! If a provider submits a no pay rap for the next episode but the patient ends up
discharging before that episode, do they need to cancel their no pay rap? Or does the discharge status code on the final claim update Medicare's system? Example: patient discharged another facility on 2/25/21 and they used a 01 status code to end that claim.
But they had submitted a no pay rap for date of service 3/18/21 that has not been cancelled. Thank you for your input!
