Our EMR is very old so I have to babysit my codes that bill out. I usually look at them on claims before sending to make sure the payers who want it reported have it. Health Partners does not want the LPN codes reported.

Subject: GCode rule change and Tcodes

So the G code rule change that was in effect a couple years ago now, I think based on what I am reading, that differentiates when a RN completes a visit vs. a LPN: Is this now for all insurances?  Or do I need to verify with each one?

I am having difficulty with the EMR the way it is set up is that it will modify the G codes for us automatically but not the T codes. So I am wondering if everyone's EMR does this for them? Or do you schedule it in a way that LPNs and RNs are scheduled with a specific visit type that already has the appropriate code? Or do you change it in billing?
