I agree with Tracy, it’s a struggle to find the information you need. Another suggestion is to review contracts your facility has with different payers. I have found that we sometimes have a contact for our contractor. Although they may not be able to answer specific billing questions, they are sometimes able to provide fee schedules with appropriate billing codes that they accept. I definitely would look into the NGS and MNITS websites like Tracy suggested. They continue to be a good source of information and are updated pretty regularly. Good luck!

That is the million dollar question! I believe most of us are self-taught or through co-workers. Trial and error, visit websites like MNITS and NGS. Look for billing information. Does your software have a billing manual? That is pretty much how I learned. With my first billing job, I called tons of people and asked questions.
