This is a great discussion – one thought …. Start recording the details of each call (if you aren’t already) – date and time, name and title of person you talk to. That gives more weight when we go back to them and point out the inconsistencies!

It does not help when you call BCBS Medicare Advantage and the connection is so bad that it sounds like the representative is talking under water. I don’t know if you all have that experience.

Oh my goodness, I don’t think BCBS representatives are not on the same page. I decided to follow your lead and I called BCBS Medicare Advantage too. I gave them the information on a current patient of ours. I asked if a RAP claim would
be required in the year 2021. The lady I spoke to put me on hold and then came back and said that in the year 2021 a RAP would not be required.

I did just go ahead and call Blues. Had to give specific client before she would give any info. She said Blues(Adv) is following Medicare guidelines.
Asked her these specific questions:
RAP need to be submitted within 5 days YES.
Will pay at $0 YES.
Still need authorization thru EviCore YES.

I have no plans of sending a RAP of any kind to BCBS unless I see something published on their website. I do plan on calling them at the beginning of the year to see if anybody know what I am talking about. It seems like when I call
they have no clue what I am talking about. I guess, I will see what comes of a phone call.

What are you planning on doing for skilled Blues claims for 2021? Like the Blues(MSHO) or Blues(Adv) plans. Going to send RAPs?? I know some said they have been told by Blues to not even submit RAPs. My billing software support says
they haven’t heard of any other payers changing…..With this penalty thing hate to lose whole payment because RAP wasn’t sent….
