We currently use 99924.00 for patients in Lake County on the North Shore, so I am guessing it applies to all rural counties. Its my understanding (someone please correct me if I’m wrong!) that
if Sauk Centre is in a county already designated as urban, then everything in that county is considered urban as well.
A word of caution about this too, as I am surprised that Lake County is going to be changed to Urban according to the 2021 Proposed Rule – Two Harbors is the largest town in the county with a
population of 3546. Apparently, even if it intuitively seems rural, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is designated a rural county – I don’t understand the metrics behind that decision, but there’s not much I can do about it – except to warn others: It might
be a good idea to re-verify your county’s status for 2021, especially if its been designated rural in the past.

I have a question for anyone who does home care billing for rural communities. Do all rural communities have the same CBSA code? We use 99924.00.
We have a patient in Sauk Centre, a town where we do not usually have patients. I am wondering if they would have the same CBSA code? If anyone knows the answer, I would sure appreciate you sharing.
