Something else is up because the first billable date of service being over 5 days past episode start date is fine.  I have that happen all the time.

Subject: recerted episode denied -HELP?

I have a final claim (recerted) for SCHA MDCR –that has more than 5 days between the Statement date period and the first billable visit.  I have been told by my clinical staff that this is fine but SCHA is denying because of it being more than 5 days.

I have been searching the Medicare chapter 10 for anything I can use to fight this and am coming up empty.

Anyone have any wisdom to share?
