For Minneapolis, if you have a LARGE number of auths not processed you can contact the authorizing nurse or you can try Carla Posch or Sherry Lechner. Unfortunately it seems the only ones getting results are agencies who have put a hold on any new clients under VA coverage. I do not encourage that however I know it is effective in getting results from them. You may contact me privately if you would like contact info. I don’t want to share e-mail addresses unless I am specifically asked.

If you are having an auth issue, unfortunately it may take quite some time to get it resolved if it’s for MPLS VA.  They aren’t even taking calls right now, and you have to leave messages regarding missing auths, etc.  The phone number we’ve been given to leave messages is 612-467-6565, option 3.  So far, I’ve made many attempts at getting a fair number of hard copies with no success.

I hope you have better luck!

Does anyone have this list of contacts? I need to call the VA regarding an auth issue for a veteran and can’t reach the right person…

Does anyone else know the Minneapolis VA is changing their Community Care Department? They assigned a nurse to each provider for authorizations processing. Now they have changed that to the nurse assigned depending on the client SS#. There are 26 different nurses we will be working with now instead of one or two. I have written a letter to them explaining how more confusing this is because we as providers are now going to have to work with so many different nurses. Having one or two contacts makes it so much easier and more organized.

Any thoughts on this?
