Subject: RE: DHS change for RN vs LPN visit billing
Hi Tracy, you are not alone in this concern; we have heard from several agencies about the extra burden this will place on them. Our DHS Liaison Workgroup will be discussing it next week, and we are also working to determine if/how to best
approach DHS to see if there is any room for flexibility or change in requirements. It’s a big unanswered question right now, but hopefully we will be able to use our unified voice to make some sort of impact!
I’ll keep the group updated as we learn more – and I appreciate you writing in with your thoughts and ideas of how to make this work better.

Subject: DHS change for RN vs LPN visit billing
Has everyone read up on the announcement that effective 1/1/20 we will have to bill LPN visits with a T1031 code instead of the T1030? So we also have to have our authorizations match for each.
I have concerns over this. Primarily we frequently have last minute changes in who sees clients due to staff illness, overloaded nurses sharing work to ease themselves up, etc. So now we have to count our LPN visits and make sure we have
enough authorization. Some clients are regulars with LPNs seeing them and some are irregular. It seems like a massive amount of wasted time on the part of providers.
