We just nailed for co-pays on a UHC advantage plan. I called and they stated we were not contracted. They changed something with Medicare in sept 2018 and we were supposed to recontract new plans with UHC. I’m very confused---I’ve been getting 100% Medicare rate from UHC and in the last 2 weeks I’ve had 3 with huge copays! Have a message into contracting (as we did sign a new contract 9/1/18), but as yet, no word back.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has seen 20%co-pays with Medicare Advantage Plans. We are quoted that with United Healthcare Medicare Advantage PPO. And there have been others lately. We have a new person doing the verification and auths and hadn’t heard that before so wondering if that is the case for many of these Advantage plans. And I am hoping referrals don’t start refusing because of that co-pay.
