How are these veterans with only a med setup and no significant other needs getting an oasis driven pps episode that gives agencies adequate reimbursement?
Can anyone shed some light on that?

All nursing and Therapy visits need to get authorized by VA and billed to Triwest. Once VA does the authorization they upload the information to Triwest and then Triwest will generate out an auth with a specific
authorization number. Per Triwest memos the veterans do not need to meet the requirements for Medicare (skilled, homebound, etc).

my understanding is that VA will send info to Triwest for Triwest to assume the skilled nursing piece. Aide and HMK stay with VA. We have not seen this yet as our “approval” with Triwest is not official
